'A Peaceful Sunday' was created on a quiet Sunday in late summer inspired by the nature surrounding my home.
Influence of my Environment
As I painted her I would take breaks and get lost in my thoughts as I took in the view from my studio. My windows were open and I could hear the birds chatting to one another, and the odd bark from a dog down the road (not mine 😁, he lay at my feet). There was a gentle breeze flowing through and swishing at my curtains. It felt like a perfect Sunday...relaxing and gentle.
I find it fascinating how my emotions manifested in my artwork through my selection of colours and the flow of movement. The painting exudes a gentle and tranquil aura, mirroring the serenity that I was experiencing.
Essence of Abstract Artwork
The essence of abstract art lies in the expression of emotions. It often lacks an identifiable form, and the feelings I convey during the creation of a painting may differ from what a viewer perceives. Nevertheless, I always aim to evoke an emotional response in the viewer.
Art can enhance a space by adding warmth, coziness, and a sense of welcome for both you and your guests. It also serves as a great conversation starter. Additionally, art can make a room feel less empty and more inviting.
'A Peaceful Sunday' is a lovely size (20"x20") for your small wall space, and an ideal and unique gift idea. She has found a new home through my regular silent online auctions.
